Vietnam-France Strengthen Economic Ties Through Strategic Business Collaboration

Date:

In a bid to fortify their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Vietnam and France have pledged to deepen collaboration across several key sectors, including diplomacy, trade, defense, energy, technology, and infrastructure. High-level discussions were recently held in Hanoi, where officials from both nations assessed the progress of their bilateral ties and committed to expediting the execution of their partnership action plan.

Vietnam has emphasized the need for enhanced cooperation in areas such as defense, cybersecurity, nuclear energy, and major infrastructure projects. The country has also urged France to accelerate the ratification of the EU–Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and to continue advocating for the removal of the European Union’s “yellow card” on Vietnamese seafood exports, which currently hampers trade.

Identifying Vietnam as a critical strategic ally in the Asia-Pacific region, France has expressed a keen interest in expanding collaborative efforts in nuclear energy, rare earths, satellite technology, transportation infrastructure, healthcare, and cultural exchanges. These areas are seen as mutually beneficial, offering opportunities for both economic growth and technological advancement.

Both countries have also committed to enhancing their coordination on regional and global matters. They are advocating for multilateralism, dialogue, and sustainable development as foundational principles of their partnership. This approach underscores their intention to contribute constructively to regional stability and international cooperation.

Through these renewed commitments, Vietnam and France aim to not only bolster their bilateral relationship but also to play a pivotal role in addressing broader international challenges. The collaboration reflects a shared vision for a more interconnected and resilient global community.
