Range Rover Enters Electric Market with £154,070 Luxury SUV Debut

Date:

In a significant move toward electrification, Range Rover has unveiled its inaugural all-electric SUV in the United Kingdom, with the starting price set at £154,070. Enthusiasts and potential buyers can place their orders now, with the first deliveries anticipated to roll out in 2027. The Range Rover Electric represents a pivotal advancement for Jaguar Land Rover as the company intensifies its focus on electric vehicle production.

Manufacturing of this luxury electric SUV will take place at Jaguar Land Rover’s Solihull facility in the UK, underscoring the automaker’s commitment to enhancing its electric vehicle lineup. The vehicle is equipped with dual electric motors that generate a robust 550PS and 850Nm of torque. This enables the SUV to sprint from 0 to 60mph in a swift 4.3 seconds, while offering an impressive driving range of up to 372 miles as per the WLTP testing cycle.

A key feature of the Range Rover Electric is its 118.5kWh battery, which supports 800-volt charging technology. This allows the battery to recharge from 10% to 80% in approximately 22 minutes when optimal charging conditions are met. The vehicle is designed to maintain the brand’s hallmark luxury and off-road prowess, incorporating an electric powertrain and improved aerodynamics, alongside its capability to traverse water depths of up to 900mm.

Years of development and rigorous testing have been dedicated to bringing this model to market. Production efforts will be bolstered by Jaguar Land Rover’s Wolverhampton plant, which is responsible for crafting the battery packs and electric drive units integral to the vehicle. This collaboration between facilities emphasizes the automaker’s integrated approach to supporting its electric vehicle ambitions.
